So two thousand yeas ago no room was to be found for God and he was born in a barn...... that was the theme of the Christmas concert we went last weekend with the question " do we have room for Him today? " and so i tried to take a poor snap shot of the concert in progress with the title on the wall. "Prepare Him Room". Eritating my dear wife for not trying to stay immersed in the moment without needing to mess with my hi tech gadget.

Alphonso Alston
In life, we go through many painful, sad, sorrowful events.
For some it is the mental anguish you get when your child loses his way.
For others it is the disappointment you have when a marriage, job, opportunity does not work out how you have envisioned.
Still others, it is the deep stabbing subconscious torment of your childhood that you desperately hide from.
My closest uncle passed away this morning.............it's hard to fight the tears.
In times like this, many people wonder, WHY?
Why do we go through so much pain, disappointment, sadness, lost, hurt.
In Philippians 1:20-21 the Apostle Paul writes.......now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
As we spend our short time here on earth. What is important is to present ourselves as living sacrifices for Christ. We were made in the image of Christ. Not Bill Gates, not Oprah Winfrey, not your neighbor.
Christ gave each one of us certain gifts, talents, abilities, and skills. Apostle Paul states, exalt Christ with your body. From your body, others should see the image of Christ. From your body people should see love, peace, joy, forgiveness, humility.
Why do we go through so many painful, sad, sorrowful events in life? By going through those events. We have had the chance to see and experience; the opportunity to be transformed into and become the image of Christ that he has made us to be.
In memory of Uncle Alphonso Alston
Be blessed
